Determining a Coefficient in a First-Order Hyperbolic Equation
Abstract
This paper deals with an inverse problem for a first-order hyperbolic equation: namely, the determination of the coefficient $\lambda ( {a,t,\rho } )$ in $\rho _t + \rho _a + \lambda \rho = 0$. Conditions on the imposed data that lead to a unique solution are presented and an algorithm for the reconstruction of the coefficient is given.
