SIAM Journal on Optimization (SIOPT) contains research articles on the theory and practice of optimization. The areas addressed include linear and quadratic programming, convex programming, nonlinear programming, complementarity problems, stochastic optimization, combinatorial optimization, integer programming, and convex, nonsmooth, and variational analysis. Contributions may emphasize optimization theory, algorithms, software, computational practice, applications, or the links between these subjects.
Articles for SIOPT must be written in clear and idiomatic English and must be accessible and of interest to a large part of the optimization community. They must contain substantially new results and relate them to the extant literature in a scholarly fashion.
Brevity is encouraged, with a suggested maximum length of 25 pages to be typeset according to the SIAM format. We refer you to SIAM's macros available here. Longer papers are published only in exceptional cases. In such cases, the editor and referees must be convinced that the length of the paper is both required by the subject matter and justified by the paper's quality.
The journal cannot accept supplementary materials of any kind except those requested during the review process, nor will it consider supplementary materials for publication along with the manuscript itself.
